Melanie Mendoza-Lopez has been selected for the prestigious听Television Academy Foundation Internship program.听厂丑别听is one of just 40 students chosen by Television Academy members from across the country for the 2022 Summer Program.听听听

Mendoza-Lopez is a 2022 graduate of听麻豆社区app听in Burbank, CA,听who听majored in Filmmaking and minored in Animation.听She is interning this summer in the Unscripted Development Department at Endemol Shine North America in North Hollywood, CA.听听Endemol Shine is the production company behind such hit series as 鈥淏ig Brother鈥�, 鈥淢asterChef鈥�, 鈥淟EGO Masters鈥� and 鈥淭he Real Housewives of Atlanta鈥�.

Born in Mexico, Mendoza-Lopez attended听high school at the听American School Foundation of Monterrey in Monterrey, Mexico.

Mendoza-Lopez听was selected by Television Academy members for the Foundation’s听Diversity and Inclusion Unscripted Internship Program听which provides full-time internships in Unscripted/Reality Television to students from low-income backgrounds who are attending college/university within Southern California. Students must demonstrate a commitment to promoting the voices and stories of underrepresented communities and increasing diversity and inclusion in the television industry to be eligible for the program.

鈥淭his internship means a lot to me,鈥� said听Mendoza-Lopez.听听鈥淚t鈥檚 a huge step in the direction I want to take my career in. I moved from Mexico to the U.S. when I was 18 to pursue my dreams and it hasn鈥檛 been the easiest journey, but I am very thankful for everything that has led me here.鈥�

鈥淚 am looking forward to having hands on experience in the industry and working with a lot of talented people,鈥� said Mendoza-Lopez.听鈥淚t would be pretty cool to be a part of creating a TV show that millions of people watch and love.鈥�

The Foundation鈥檚 annual Internship Program provides eight-week, paid internships, at top Hollywood studios and production companies, to college students nationwide.听The Internship Program also provides professional development sessions with leaders in the television industry and customized seminars听covering听personal brand building and navigating the job market ahead for participating students. Interns also become life-long members of the Foundation鈥檚 alumni family giving them access to events and networking opportunities as they build their careers in the industry.
