Coronavirus Update 2/26

Dear Woodbury Campus Community:

麻豆社区appniversity is aware of the recent comment by an official from the CDC who stated: 鈥淚t鈥檚 not so much a question of if this will happen anymore, but rather more a question of exactly when.鈥 Officials have taken note of the virus spreading in Europe and are preparing for a pandemic. This is a precautionary approach as officials have reiterated that Los Angeles County is not threatened. Today the US Department of Health & Human Services said there are 14 cases of the coronavirus detected in the US, which have stemmed from traveling to China, or close contacts with those travelers. Currently, Los Angeles County only has one confirmed case of novel coronavirus in a non-resident traveler from Wuhan. Further, in the document released below by the LA County Department of Public Health states that 鈥渘ovel coronavirus is NOT currently spreading in the community in the United States and the immediate health risk for the general public from 2019-nCoV is considered low.鈥
